Product Descreiption
1. Specifications
2. Installation Position
- Location: Between crankshaft main journals and engine block main supports
- Arrangement: 7 main bearing positions (No.1–No.7) along the crankshaft
- Thrust Bearing: Installed at the No.6 main journal (rear) to control crankshaft axial movement
- Orientation:
- Upper half → engine block main seat
- Lower half → main bearing cap (secured by bolts)
- Thrust bearing: Flange faces crankshaft end; oil groove side toward the crankshaft
3. Function
- Support the Crankshaft: Bears radial loads from combustion and rotation, maintaining crankshaft alignment
- Reduce Friction: Provides a smooth sliding surface with hydrodynamic oil film, minimizing wear and power loss
- Control Axial Play: The thrust bearing limits forward/backward crankshaft movement (axial clearance: 0.175–0.425 mm)
- Distribute Lubrication: Oil grooves and holes feed pressurized oil to crankshaft journals and connecting rod bearings
- Absorb Shock: Dampens engine vibration and impact loads during operation
