一、Installation Position
It is mounted on the front end of the engine crankshaft, located at the front side of the engine block, at the outboard end of the crankshaft main journal.
It is positioned in the front engine accessory drive area, aligned with engine timing system and belt-driven accessories.
二、Function
- Transmit crankshaft rotational power via belt to drive engine accessories, such as alternator, water pump, air conditioning compressor, fan and power steering pump.
- Work as a timing gear/pulley to match engine timing system, synchronize camshaft and crankshaft operation to ensure accurate engine valve timing.
- Absorb and dampen crankshaft torsional vibration, reduce engine vibration and noise, protect crankshaft and related transmission parts from wear and damage.
- Control engine accessory drive speed through its gear/pulley tooth specification, maintain normal working speed of peripheral components.
Installation Position: Front end of engine crankshaft, front accessory drive side of engine.
Function: Crankshaft power transmission, driving engine auxiliary parts; engine timing synchronization; torsional vibration damping and crankshaft protection.
