2. Installation Position
It is installed between the engine valve chamber (valve cover) and the cylinder head. It is clamped tightly by the valve cover and cylinder head bolts, fitting along the mating flange of the two components.
3. Main Functions
- Sealing Prevention: Seal the gap between the valve cover and cylinder head to stop engine oil leakage and prevent external dust, dirt and water from entering the valve chamber.
- Isolate Gas: Seal crankcase gas inside the valve chamber, avoid blow-by gas escaping into the engine compartment.
- Buffer & Shock Absorption: Absorb minor vibration between the valve cover and cylinder head during engine operation, reduce wear and looseness of mating surfaces.
- Noise Reduction: Diminish part vibration noise generated by engine running.
